Dr. Shi-Joon Yoo specializes pediatric and fetal cardiac imaging as a radiologist. He has been the Professor of Medical Imaging and Pediatrics at the University of Toronto and a Staff Cardiac Radiologist at the Hospital for Sick Children since 1999. His specialties include pediatric cardiovascular MRI and CT, fetal echocardiography, and 3D modeling and printing for cardiovascular pathologies. He pioneered clinical utilization of MRI flow assessment and 3D printing and modeling in pediatric cardiac patients. He introduced the “three-vessel view” that became a standard screening view at fetal ultrasound examination for the abnormalities including ventricular outflow tracts and aortic arch. He founded the 3D Printing Program of the Hospital for Sick Children in 2007. He and his colleague surgeons have organized the annual international Hands-on Surgical Training (HOST) courses and the monthly in-house HOST courses for the training of congenital heart surgeons since 2015 and 2019, respectively. He has published over 300 scientific papers, and authored or coauthored 5 books and 26 chapters.
